Opening of the Großes Haus (Main Theatre) with Hamlet on 4th November 2011
The theatre is always a building site. We are always constructing something new. Since July 2010 our Großes Haus has been closed for a complex programme of asbestos removal, renovation and improvement. So complex that the planned re-opening with Hamlet had to be postponed from its intended date of 14th October. However, the scaffolding is now coming down, the carpets are being rolled out and we will open on time for our revised premiere on 4th November. The Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and Junges Schauspielhaus eagerly awaits its audience. Performances start on 13th October with the first premieres at Junges Schauspielhaus and the Kleines Haus - in the freshly-renovated Großes Haus on 4th and 6th November.
