Klaus und Erika

It’s the Summer of 1914 and the First World War has just been declared. While their father sits in his study, listening to Wagner and writing his opus magnum The Magic Mountain, Klaus and Erika Mann, aged 8 and 9 respectively, have to play quietly outside while trying to make sense of the adult world and what their place in it might be.
